Maui Artist Sarah Houglum
Aloha I’m Sarah Houglum, I live on the beautiful island of Maui with my family. Creating art makes me happy!
I studied art in high school, college and beyond. I had a successful mural business in Southern California and Texas that started when I painted on the walls of my kids’ rooms when they were just infants. I painted “wallpaper” in bathrooms, pictures in dining rooms and borders around kitchens. I painted canvas backdrops for kids’ birthday parties and larger works for school cafeterias and gyms. I now enjoy painting watercolor and oil in my home studio on Maui. I am inspired by the peaceful beauty and rich tropical colors of the Hawaiian islands. I strive to reflect that in my artwork.
